Transformed Health Coaching

Connecting with a health coach to transform your mind and health.

Role

  • Product Designer

  • Visual Designer

  • User Research

Any individual looking to improve their mind and health may have found the communication of health coaching services unclear in the website design, making it difficult for individuals to schedule free consultations with a Transformed Health coach. This leads to frustration and missed opportunities for personalized wellness guidance for the user and a missed opportunity to onboard a client for the stakeholder.

Problem

The goal is to redesign the health coach’s website to effectively communicate, streamline the scheduling process for free consultations, and enhance the user experience by facilitating seamless connections between users and coaches, and ultimately improving access to personalized wellness guidance.

Target Audience

This may encompass busy professionals looking to manage stress, individuals seeking weight loss or fitness guidance, those dealing with chronic health conditions, or anyone desiring support in adopting healthier lifestyle habits.

User functionality, backed by research

  • Usability Testing- Before the redesign could occur, testing took place. Users were asked to determine what services were available with Transformed Health Coaching and the majority were left confused and unsure of what services were available. Users also indicated that some of the buttons did not lead to what they were anticipating to find.

of participants were unsure of what services were available with Transformed Health Coaching

  • Empathy Maps- Through mapping, I was able to empathize with the user. Users want to get in shape and need help to stay motivated. Users can feel frustrated with their current level of fitness but also want a personalized plan that will fit into their schedules. Hoping to improve their overall health, users can be intimidated when starting a new fitness plan.

  • Feature Prioritization- Through the MoScow metric I was able to discover “must-have” features that were missing on the current site, including clear call-to-action buttons, a contact feature, and testimonial features. Users want to see if this coach has a success rate with former clients. These were “must-have” features that had to be addressed immediately.

User needs discovered by insights

  • Users need to see the coach’s qualifications and credentials of what makes this coach effective and reputable.

  • Users need to see a track record of how the coach has helped other clients succeed.

  • Users need a personalized approach that fits their lifestyle and meets their goals.

  • Users need a coach that will provide encouragement and motivation, without the feeling of judgment.

Redesign based on user insights

The stakeholder presented me with the design below and was curious as to why users were not engaging with the coaching services based on current design.

Old Design

Research Discoveries

User 1

“I was confused by the services offered, if this was multiple services or if it was explaining one service differently under each photo. I was confused by the layout of virtual services.”

User 2

“I was left wondering what to do next. There was no clear direction on how to sign up for these services.”

User 3

“I found myself confused as to where I was in the site because there was no clear direction and some of the buttons did not lead to what I was expecting.”

Redesign using Insights

The next steps were clear, I needed to enhance the most critical features. One feature needing attention was optimizing the placement of call-to-actions (CTA’s) to engage users effectively. By strategically placing prominent CTA’s throughout the site, user interaction and conversion rates can be significantly boosted. Another feature needing to be addressed was employing a clear hierarchy in design that further facilitates user navigation. Utilizing visual cues such as size, color, and placement, prioritizes important elements which guides users seamlessly through the site. Implementing a structured hierarchy ensures that users are directed towards desired actions, enhancing the overall user experience, and achieving the website's objectives. Through thoughtful consideration of the redesigned, Transformed Health Coaching can effectively capture and retain user attention, fostering meaningful engagement and driving desired outcomes.

Conclusion

While redesigning Transformed Health Coaching involved addressing the most critical components such as optimizing CTA’s and establishing clear hierarchy, it's imperative to recognize that the digital landscape is ever-evolving. Continuous refinement is necessary to ensure the website remains relevant and effective in meeting user needs and business objectives. By embracing a mindset of constant evolution, staying attuned to emerging trends and incorporating user feedback, the redesigned website can maintain its effectiveness and competitiveness in the dynamic online environment.
